DAD'S NEW TRUCK

We recently purchased another pump truck for our business and considering the amount of rain our area has received it is going to be getting use ASAP!!  As with any "boy toy" our little guys were pretty excited to see Dad's new truck!  Here's my attempt at funny poetry to explain ALL the "boys" reaction to it!



When you are a boy age ten or seven
What puts you in seventh heaven?
Playing in dirt, or getting grass stains
Jumping in a puddle after it rains
Watching your Royals win a post-season game
Getting your rocket to shoot out some flames
Remote control cars or 4-wheeler riding
Breaking the rules, never abiding

How about a trip to get your dad’s new pump truck?
Just getting to ride has got to be good luck
Checking it out and kicking the tires
Doing what dad does like mini-man-spy-ers

Now what if you’re a man age forty to date
Is there much difference between what you like or hate?
Big trucks and gadgets with torque or power
Are equivalent to making an erector set tower
No, not much difference between a man or small boys

As we all know, it’s just the price of their toys

TOILET "INJURIES"

I know I have written much over the years about toilet paper and the problems it causes people with their septic system.  Today, I'd like to elaborate a bit on that -- it's kind of amazing what can get flushed down a toilet! When I was teaching middle school science, I used to post "funny facts" on my board every day.  I remember one fact that would always be on those "Fact lists" (or in "freaky fact" books kids would give me...) and it was this: The US estimates 40,000 injuries a year associated with toilets!  Of course teenagers always found this funny, -- what's so dangerous about a toilet that people are being injured by them??  But even now that I have left middle-school-dom, I'm seeing more why this is an issue....and it's really not people being dumb, it's just freaky or unfortunate events! WHEN I'M SIXTY-FOUR

Did anyone else think you’d be 64 before your body started aching all over?  I sure did.  I never paired my 30s with pain.  I came across this little meme today and though I laughed, I also sighed… I don’t know about you, but this is what I feel like most days.  And as of today, I’m far from sixty four. Relating to this though, kind of irritated me.  I don’t want to be the frumpy, tired, grumpy adult that gets all negative about life whenever anyone asks, "How are you?".  I like to think of myself as the “glass is half full” kind of girl, but lately I feel like my glass is half empty… and has a crack in it.
